Kevin shortlisted for a ‘FreeFrom Hero Award’
Kevin Dunn, a new product development technologist with leading biscuit manufacturer Northumbrian Fine Foods (NFF), has been shortlisted for a prestigious ‘FreeFrom Hero Award’.
Kevin was selected as a finalist in the forthcoming FreeFrom Food Awards for his innovative work and dynamism in the NFF kitchen in helping to develop a vast range of exciting new gluten free biscuit recipes.
Since 2012, it is estimated that over 675 million gluten free biscuits developed by Kevin and his team have been enjoyed by consumers, equating to 273 different separate biscuit products for retailer brands and NFF’s own Prewett’s brand.
Kevin said: “I’m very proud to have been shortlisted for this award, although this is more about recognition for the fantastic work of the whole development team, rather than down to the efforts of one individual.”
David Wood, business improvement director for NFF, said: “Kevin really is an unsung hero and he, along with the rest of the development team, have made a major contribution towards the success of NFF as the UK’s leading gluten free sweet biscuit manufacturer.”
The FreeFrom Food Awards are the UK’s only industry awards exclusively for free-from food, with the aim of encouraging innovation and celebrating excellence in the free-from food industry. The awards presentation will take place at the Royal College of Physicians in London on April 17th.
